Ordinary galvanized roller shutter doors mainly cover a layer of zinc on the surface of the steel through the methods of hot-dip galvanizing or electro-galvanizing. Hot-dip galvanizing involves immersing the steel in molten zinc liquid so that the zinc layer adheres to the surface of the steel. The zinc layer formed by this method is relatively thick, usually ranging from a few micrometers to dozens of micrometers, and has good corrosion resistance. Electro-galvanizing, on the other hand, deposits a zinc layer on the surface of the steel through electrolysis. The zinc layer formed in this way is relatively thin but has a relatively uniform surface. The existence of the zinc layer is like a protective film, which can prevent the steel from directly contacting the outside air and moisture, thus slowing down the corrosion rate of the steel.

• Strength Performance: Thanks to the steel used as the internal supporting structure, ordinary galvanized roller shutter doors possess a certain level of strength. They can withstand the mechanical stresses during normal use. For example, during frequent opening and closing operations, the door body will not be easily deformed. Moreover, when encountering some unexpected external impacts, such as being gently bumped by vehicles or hit by objects blown by the wind, it can also maintain its basic integrity and will not be easily damaged.

• Anti-theft Performance: Although it does not have a complex anti-theft system like some advanced anti-theft roller shutter doors, the sturdiness of the steel itself and the structural design of the roller shutter door endow it with a certain anti-theft ability. When the door is closed, the closely connected roller shutter slats and the solid steel material can prevent ordinary unauthorized entry attempts. For some small shops or ordinary warehouses, this anti-theft performance can meet the basic security requirements.

• Fireproof Performance (Relatively Weak): The fireproof performance of ordinary galvanized roller shutter doors is relatively limited. The zinc layer mainly serves the purpose of anti-corrosion, and steel will lose its strength under high temperatures. However, compared with some flammable wooden or plastic doors, it can, to a certain extent, delay the spread of fire, buying some time for the evacuation of personnel and fire rescue operations. But if a higher fireproof rating is required, specialized fireproof galvanized roller shutter doors are needed. These doors usually have special fireproof materials filled in or have undergone special fireproof treatments.
